Coach Tours

Visit one of Ireland’s largest farms!

The family history stems back to the 1700s when Catherine’s ancestors, the O’Malleys, became tenant farmers at Glen Keen which was then part of the ‘Doolough Farm’. The farm is steeped in history, tradition and heritage.

Packages for tour operators are designed to convey the history of tradition and heritage through the demonstrated practices of this living working sheep farm that spans over six generations.

Coach Tour packages include the following options:

  • Guided Farm Walk: Visit old ringforts dating back to the 5th Century which were once occupied by Gaelic lords!
  • Irish Coffee Making Demonstration
  • Traditional Irish Music Sessions
  • Private Cookery Demonstration
  • Sheep Herding demonstrations
  • Sheep Shearing demonstrations
  • Traditional Turf Cutting demonstrations
  • Historic Photographic Exhibition
  • Craft Shop
  • Guided Historical Walks on the Irish Famine History

The Glen Keen Farm Visitor Centre is located in the most tranquil setting nestled at the bottom of the Sheaffrey Mountain Range.  The tearooms are located on the Carrowniskey river where one can get lost in the tranquil sound of the passing river and the bird song of the dawn chorus.

We wish to advise visitors pre-booking is essential and no pets permitted as this is a working farm.
